Flix50 Jury
Jonathan Dolphin (Communications student, Alumni office staff)
When he's not tweeting on his iPhone or reading about the latest gadgets, Jonathan is a communications and web specialist in York's Alumni office. In a previous life he was a graphic designer too! His expertise is sure to come in handy during the tough deliberations to come.
Ryan Knight (Film Studies, '07)
Watch out for tough technical scoring from this judge! A director and cinematographer, Ryan has created documentaries, music videos, short films, commercials and feature films. "My eye is for the story... it's entirely about the story," he emphasized in a recent interview. "All of the tremendous hard work pays off immensely when you hear that first reaction from the audience."
Andrew Nisker (BFA, '93)
This award-winning filmmaker and activist spent many years honing his cinematic chops working for Canada's broadcasters. He has had two feature-length comedic screenplays commissioned by Broadway Video (Saturday Night Live) and The Movie Network, but his true passion is for social issue documentaries like his Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home, which is making waves around the world.
David Pullara (HBBA '00, MBA '08)
Creativity is sure to impress this judge! David is a professional marketer responsible for managing part of the Pizza Hut business. But there's a good chance your video can also earn some "sentimental" points with this judge: in his spare time, David is an active volunteer with Room to Read, an innovative non-profit leader dedicated to promoting and enabling global education.
Julie Devaney (BA '01, MA '07)
Julie is a writer and performance artist. She has performed her play "My Leaky Body" internationally and is in the midst of writing "My Leaky Body" - the book. When she's not leaking, writing or performing she's most likely watching her cats watch You Tube - they're *so* into it.
